|CHROMER - Ikaw Maganda [qd-4222] - Oliver Frazer|
Sullen minimalist downtempo tunes flavored with a little IDM/glitch put together by a classically-trained electronica composer who takes inspiration from the Philippines and transforms it into audio snapshots of decay and beauty. The standout is the all-too-brief "Paradise Island" which pits lush soundtrack strings with ambient jungle sounds. Ikaw Maganda (which literally means "you beautiful" in Filipino) is Chromer's first QED release, but definitely not his last.

|CHROMER - Keep It Street [qd-4229] - Oliver Frazer|
First there is quiet ambient backmasking, then there are twisted takes on happy pop songs, plus crisp glitchy rhythm patterns. Then there is grungy digital noise with a sprinkling of synth pads. CHROMER returns with an experimental 4-track EP entitled KEEP IT STREET which will bend your mind as much as it bends your ears. Keep hold of that volume level, kids.
